We received 495 artistic proposals for the XVI edition of the Opera Prima Festival.
As every year, we have received proposals from Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Cuba, Sweden, Spain, Israel, the Czech Republic, Russia, Palestine, Denmark, Peru , Iran, United Kingdom, Chile, Norway, Portugal, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Cyprus, Egypt, Mexico, Ukraine, Belgium, Poland, Slovakia , Armenia, Slovenia, Switzerland, India, Ireland, Belarus, etc ...
The invitation, in fact, was addressed to young groups or singleartists coming from all over the world, involved with the experimentation of theatrical languages and theatrical research.
It is evident from the amount of proposals received that when live theater does not crystallize and solidify in the forms of tradition, a sort of Pandora's box is uncovered: research can in fact travel on infinite paths and give life to very different spectacular forms.
Despite the climate of uncertainty, we decided to confirm the Festival from 6 to 13 September 2020. We are reasoning on a schedule capable of bringing a festive atmosphere widespread in the city, while respecting the health and safety of people. Precisely in this period of pandemic we need moments of meeting and sharing that only live theater, in its human and political experience, is able to offer.
