Ante Lucem (Prima dell’Alba) is a Chamber Opera written on Seven Romances on Poems of Aleksandr Blok op. 127 of Dmitrij Šostakovič. Although it is a score that the Russian composer wrote for soprano and a small instrumental ensemble, it lends to a theatrical reinterpretation. The play performed in this version by Teatro del Lemming, superimposes the articulated language of the theater on the music: the physicality of the actors, the poetic word, the symbolic language of the images, therefore transform the chamber composition into a complex and strong Opera. visual impact.

Teatro del Lemming (Rovigo - 1987), is known, since the nineties, as one of the most innovative realities of the italian scene.
