Dunajna is a dynamic dance performance created by Roland Géczy. Inspired by Hungarian folklore and tribal references, four performers take viewers on a journey through the deep and indelible cultural and tribal traces we carry. Witnessing their collective power and individual vulnerability, Dunajna aims to create a powerful energy field, a space where viewers can enjoy, contemplate, but also want to get up and dance.
Roland Géczy, born in Hungary in 1994, is a contemporary dancer from the world of hip hop. His work is aimed at using the body in an extremely energetic and dynamic way; with the aim of achieving a sort of trance through dance. In 2018, Roland moved to Austria, where in 2022 he graduated from the Sead-Salzburg experimental academy of dance. Simultaneously, Roland began his teaching career in Hungary, Austria and Romania. Starting with Dunajna, his research is aimed at studying the mix between folklore and tribal traditions, trying to investigate how these aspects leave indelible traces in our bodies.
