Sirene is a participatory performance that engages the audience in a special sensory experience. While walking through the city, guided by a performer, participants are immersed in a specially created soundscape of music and poetic texts. Sirens aims to explore the concept of nostos or ‘return journey’ from a contemporary perspective. The performance is an invitation to the audience to reflect on their own choices and life paths, and how they would navigate their way through the distractions and temptations presented to them. The outer space of the city reflects the inner experiences of the performers and the audience. The performer suggests rituals at each station to advance through transformative experiences. These rituals draw on psychomagic, fusing psychology and spirituality for personal transformation.
Sara Vilardo is an artist, performer and theatre maker. She trained as an actress, then completed in 2010 a postgraduate in Advance Performance and Scenography Training (Brussels) and in 2017 a Master in Stage Performance and Visual Culture in Madrid. Over the years she has specialised in the creation of performance projects in landscape or unconventional, site-specific and interactive spaces, collaborating as performer and/or co-author with several international companies. Her goal is to continue to challenge her own limits and to create performances that inspire and challenge the public.
