«selfie s. m. inv. Self-photo usually done with a smartphone or a webcam and then shared on social relationship sites». Treccani 2015. What are the drivers of our choices, our behavior? To what extent are our actions influenced by the gaze of others? And what role does biology play, our "belonging to the animal world", in our daily lives, in our life as a group? The diptych SELFIE | STICK stages the contrasts between nature and culture, between individual and society, through the bodies and images of two figures, amplified by live technologies.

DOYOUDaDA was founded in 2013 by Giulio Boato (playwright, director and film-maker), Lorenzo Danesin (composer, musician and phonographer) and Juliette Fabre (actress and cellist). Given the different geographical and artistic origins of the founders, the collective gathers under its name different experiences, ranging from performing arts (theatre, music, performance) to documentary, video art and installation. The thread that unites the group’s productions is a constant search for language: the balance between signifier and meaning, the asymmetry between image and sound, the boundary between reality and representation.
