ANGST VOR DER ANGST, fear of fear.
Only one person on the stage. A non-narrative, but poetic dramaturgy, made of juxtapositions and fragments. A dialogue between actor and audience made of words said and kept silent, ordinary words and mysterious words. A work that interweaves dreams, Italian fairy tales, fables of German and European culture, memoirs and nursery rhymes, poetry ways of saying, popular essays and academic essays. Straight words and reverse words. Sounds and videos. The news and voices of politicians, their threats, promises and scenarios they can paint. At the collective level, fairy tales, like theatre, have always had the task of keeping open the dialogue between the ordinary and the obscure, the magical world, the dreamlike, the forces which are not subject to rational or statistical control, nor to physical or market laws.
WELCOME PROJECT is an emerging training for women born in Berlin in 2015 from an idea of Chiara Elisa Rossini. At the moment the group is composed of four professional artists who live in Germany but have different cultural origins. The first production of Welcome Project was INTIME FREMDE which debuted in November 2015 at the Acker Stadt Palast in Berlin. In 2017, Intime Fremde was named one of the 10 best shows of the year by Krapp’s Last Post magazine. Intime Fremde also recently won the 2017 Crash Test prize. A first study of ANGST VOR DER ANGST was finalist for the Dante Cappelletti prize 2017.
