In The key to the elevator, a text by Ágota Kristóf, a sacrifice is staged; the story, the static and all verbal action aimed at restoring a truth, coincides with a death. The truth is played in the apparently narrow space that divides the ego and you of a couple; the sacrifice game is explicit because the victim, rebelling, shows it. The scene also shows itself for what it is; not only a separate territory, but even inaccessible to those who do not have a certain key, a special tool, that is, a special power. Much of what happens and above all what matters, happens outside, elsewhere: the scene of Ágota Kristóf is a place of imprisonment, a concentrative space. Where they act, disguised as small intimate situations, large ceremonies of torture and death.
ACCADEMIA DEGLI ARTEFATTI was founded under the leadership of Fabrizio Arcuri in the early nineties with the specific intention of promoting, organizing and disseminating theatrical culture. The approach to work, with its intersections between figurative art, performance and installations, does not imply a rigid stylistic figure or a predefined aesthetic coherence. The company has developed its own purely theatrical mode, having the theatre - its sense and its crises - as an object of continuous reflection and declination of the real.
FLORIAN METATEATRO is a Centre for theatre production that brings together the activity of the Florian di Pescara, led by Giulia Basel and Massimo Vellaccio, and the Metateatro di Pippo di Marca among the protagonists of the avant-garde theatrical of the sixties.
