This work constitutes the second part of a cycle called Around Troy, which aims to investigate the theme of the destruction of a civilisation, of bewilderment and exile. The historical period in which we are living makes us feel like Achaeans launched into the destruction of cities and at the same time like Trojans adrift. Our face increasingly takes on the face of the conqueror along with that of the defeated. We play both roles alternately in the wheel of history, but today they seem to be played simultaneously. We are the destroyers of the planet and at the same time, through climate change, wars and pandemics, the victims of this destruction. And in the terrible condition of migrants lies both the origin and perhaps the destiny of our civilisation. After an initial Study on ILIO, presented last year, this work puts the direct and proxemic relationship with the spectator back at the centre, as is typical of our poetics.
Teatro del Lemming, founded in Rovigo in 1987 by Massimo Munaro and Martino Ferrari, is a research theatre company financed by MiC since 1997. Since the 1990s, the group has established itself as one of the most innovative realities of the scene through a theatrical path characterised by the dramaturgical and sensorial involvement of spectators. The company has long been recognised as one of the leading groups of theatrical research inside and outside Italy. For many years it has been the creator of an original theatrical pedagogy called The Five Senses of the Actor.
