Miss Lala al Circo Fernando is a performance starring Marigia Maggipinto, historical interpreter of the company of the Wuppertal Tanztheater.
As in the early days of the Circus, the spectators venture into an intimate space to see “the different”, “the phenomenon” up close, in our case due to her long experience of work and life with Pina Bausch. Fragments, memories, anecdotes, a replica in New York that cannot be forgotten and other suggestions.
Based on people's instinctive choice, Marigia composes a story in real time, in which her dance re-emerges at times. It is not a question of commemorating, but of reliving that baggage of artistic and human experience at each different solicitation. Miss Lala's chapiteau is a warm, welcoming home where guests are seated around a table laden with photos and writings.
Chiara Frigo develops her artistic interest in the field of dance and performing art. Since 2009 she has been involved in international choreographic research projects supported by Operaestate Veneto, such as Choreoroam and Tryptic, which inaugurates a long collaboration with the Circuit Est center in Montreal. Suite-Hope wins the Residences competition in La Caldera (ES) and is chosen to represent Italy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Marigia Maggipinto studies at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen (directed by Pina Bausch). She dances with Pina Bausch in 14 different choreographies and participates in the new creations of the German choreographer: Tanzabend II ('92), Schiff ('93), Trauerspiel ('94), Danzon ('95) and Der Fensterputzer ('97) . She leaves the company in 1999 but returns as a guest later attending the Tanztheater festivals. She leads Workshop at the international Festival for contemporary dance at the "Fabrik" center in Potsdam, Berlin (May 2017).
