the atistic residences within the theatrical system

The recognition of the Artistic Residences within the Ministerial and Regional funding has undoubtedly represented one of the most significant innovations of the theater system in recent years. In fact, the residency activities have spread throughout the national territory with a plurality of experiences that draw an articulated map of the care of the artists.
The Residences are a workshop and a permanent laboratory of artistic innovation, of relations between operators and public bodies, between artists and territories. They have proved capable of combining art and knowledge in favor of the research, training and composition of new works by acting mainly on the creation processes: the time and care that artists need to be able to investigate and experiment with different ideas and stages of their research. In this particular period of pandemic, the places of residence also carried out a very important "public function", keeping alive, even in a period of difficulty and emergency, the dialogues with the artists and with the neighboring communities.
The meeting at Opera Prima is thought of as a moment of confrontation at the end of a cycle of experiences and at the beginning of a new cycle of three-year projects.
The Festival has asked the secretariat of the National Coordination of Artists in the Territories to promote the table, and it is open to the subjects of the theatrical system to evaluate precisely the value that in recent years the Residences have had their potential and their possible criticalities.
