A shared space: a Kitchen. A big table in the center. Around it work tables, oven, pans, burners, cutting boards and rolling pins. Paola, Stefano and Maurizio welcome the audience, let them sit around, set the table.
‹‹We really love to invite friends for lunch or dinner, but it's not that easy. There are so many things to do, no time to do them…››, says Stefano.
This is how dinner (or lunch) starts, and the three actors serve water and wine, bread, cheese, vegetables and tagliatelle, all the while telling their life stories (about theater, farming, fear of flight, friends and boars), personal experiences, small failures of no consequences, the anxiety running through our whole present.
They talk about all of this with a certain lightness, there's no drama, only playfulness.
In this Kitchen-Theater delle Ariette, they try to create a temporary community, even if only for the small time of a performance, something that, just maybe, is still doable.

The Teatro delle Ariette was founded in 1996. Its story is narrated in the book “Teatro delle Ariette. Life around a table”. One of their most well-known performance “Teatro da mangiare?” made more than 1000 encores. On the 8th of April 2017, the "Deposito Attrezzi", built in 2000 in the middle of the Ariette's fields, officially became a Theater. Through all of these years, the company has looked for a sort of dialogue with theater, keeping itself on the sidelines, walking the tightrope between theater and life, fighting against the "performance mold" and trying to go beyond it, morphing life in an endless rehearsal of a performance like no other.
