Performance in Italian, German, French, English, with italian surtitles
What does it mean, nowadays, to be thirty, to live in western society, to confront onself with love? Is love a priority, in our life? In this middle ground between being young and being an adult, questions are inevitable: when you're thirty, you have to be organized, you have to plan how not be alone; time is always more pressing, reminding us that it's time for important, maybe final, choices; settle down with children or keep on dreaming about the perfect relationship; define, analyze, run away, come back.
Something in-between performance, dance, theater, video art. The play's starting point are some interviews with thirty-something men and women of different ethnicities who were asked to answer honestly to some questions about love.
The performance is in different languages: Italian, German, French, English. The choice mirrors the will to narrate a new generation that's purely European, and to be able to show more voices.
Collettivo Treppenwitz was born in 2018 with the union of three different companies: Atré Teatro, Azimut and Collettivo Ingwer. They all shares a common objective in the contemporary expression - both in their actions and in their poetry. L’amore ist nicht une chose for everybody (Loving Kills) is this organization first production (runner-up for the PREMIO Schweiz 2018).
The TREPPENWITZ… In 1773, at dinner, the encyclopedia writer Denis Diderot receives an objection that leaves him speechless. The philospher, shocked by the objection, los his mind, and find himself again only when he leaves and reaches the bottom of the stairs. That is "Treppenwitz", the "stairs' spirit". The right answer, out of time, that still keeps in itself sensibility and passion, the restlessness against the system, the will to act and react.
