Sarajevo, mon amour is a story of resistance that stems from a journey made by Gianmarco Busetto and Carola Minincleri Colussi in 2018, a research on the 1,425 days of siege experienced by the city of Sarajevo between 1992 and 1996 during the Balkan War, then influenced by the experience of siege during the pandemic.
To narrate this dangerous game of hatred, a love story is told here: that of Boško Brkic and Admira Ismic, known as the ‘Romeo and Juliet of the Balkans’, fiancés of different ethnicities and origins, killed by a sniper and who died embracing on the Vrbanja bridge as they tried to flee Sarajevo together, so that they could continue to love each other and live their lives.
Sarajevo, mon amour, is a series of stories, that of those who tell, that of those who are told, those of those who observe and listen, stories that meet in the bloody memory of a city torn apart by hatred, a city in which two boys who could be anyone in any future, fight against the grenades, the snipers, the thirst, against the history that, in every conflict, would like to victimize those who do not stop loving.
Farmacia Zoo:is an independent company founded in December 2006 in Mestre by Gianmarco Busetto and Carola Minincleri Colussi. It deals with theatre, poetry and performance and investigates contemporaneity in search of the essential value of individuals and their communities, in order to find and share inspirations and paths ‘alternative to emptiness’.
