The compilation of an umpteenth call for entries with a social theme becomes the pretext for the tale of Angelo's adventure, engaged in theatrical research in the reception centres on the Straits of Messina. Steve Jobs' admonition, “Stay Hungry”, resounds in a mocking key in the kaleidoscope of human stories, from North to South, that run through the memories of this autobiography, in which victims and executioners mingle, in a time of voids that become chasms.
Three years of life become the story of an Italy that schizophrenically opened and then closed the doors of reception, leaving on the street stories, dreams, projects, human relations initiated with the (over-enthusiastic) cry of Integration. In Angelo's story, theatre actors and migrants find themselves together, always with less opportunity to fill their hunger for life and meaning in a society like ours, finding in the game of theatre an unexpected weapon to face life.
Angelo Campolo trained at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. Finalist at the 2016 Ubu Award as ‘best actor under 35’. Founder and artistic director of the DAF company, over the years he has conceived and directed numerous theatrical projects, distinguishing himself for his research on social issues and his commitment to training.
