NO is a performance that explores the difficulty of defining one’s personal boundaries. The performer confronts the demands of the external world, personified by a microphone: overwhelmed by increasingly persistent and invasive questions, she finds herself unable to give consent. From this limiting condition, her rebellion emerges: by actively taking control of the microphone, she transforms into an active subject, finally able to assert her voice and autonomy.
Born in Milan in 1996, Annalisa Limardi began her artistic training in the Contemporary Dance course at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, focusing on bodywork and exploring her own movement quality. After graduating in 2018, she moved to Florence to study acting at the Orazio Costa Acting Course of Teatro della Pergola. In 2020, she began working as a performer, appearing on various Italian stages. Alongside her work as a performer, she developed a strong interest in authorship, driven by a desire to explore the structural dynamics of power. This led to the creation of NO, a performance about the struggle to define personal and intimate boundaries in relationships with others.
