This performance embraces the extreme. Before us, action and life unfold, veiled by stillness. Seated in silence, awaiting our final freedom, we discover that the quest for freedom demands that we traverse ourselves, others, the state, war—and finally—revolution.
ibodies’ work stems from a fundamental intuition: theatre—as the space where performance happens—requires a unique and radical language, one that serves no utilitarian function and is never at the service of any agenda beyond its own essence as an autonomous linguistic form. In this ongoing search for a radical scenic language, a poetics of awareness is an absolute premise for ibodies. Based in Gothenburg (Sweden), ibodies is led by Anmar Taha and Josephine Gray. Their works have been presented in festivals and theatres across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. ibodies stands for infinite, incredulous, immaculate, intelligent, incandescent, illegitimate, irascible, iconic, inundated, illicit, illegal, irrefutable, independent, enlightened, illustrious, infallible, irreverent, undefined, irregular, integral, indispensable, illogical bodies.
